Very typical dangerous area, in which at first glance everything should be fine - there are markings, guardrails, good street lighting, lack of intersections, BUT nevertheless the area has many accidents. Lack of discipline in drivers. The main and perhaps the only factor for the presence of so many accidents in this area (seventy in four years) is the complete lack of discipline in drivers to comply with the set speed limit, regulated with traffic signs, light signals, light board to display the current speed and what not. However, the section is straight and in the presence of good visibility drivers drive with a very large excess of the limit - sometimes more than 50 km / h above it. Overtaking is common, the classic scenario is overtaking trucks from cars with a big difference in speed. On the other hand, this section is used by local motorcyclists and sports cars to test the capabilities of their machines. The section has a relatively good pavement and allows high speeds. Most accidents here are the result of a lack of distance, speeding and improper overtaking, and there are many motorcycle accidents.

The project “Improved nodes Giurgiu-Byala for better connection to TEN-T infrastructure” / „Îmbunătățirea nodurilor Giurgiu-Byala pentru o conectare mai bună la rețeaua infrastructurii TEN-T” (The project) aims to improve the transport system through effective connection of secondary and tertiary nodes Giurgiu and White with the main and comprehensive TEN-T transport network.
The project activities are included in the priority axis of the Program №1: “Well-connected region”, specific objective № 1.1: Support for the planning, development and coordination of cross-border transport systems to improve the connections with the TEN-T transport network.
The specific objectives of the project are:
Specific objective №1: Improving the transport infrastructure to better connect to the core and comprehensive TEN-T network in order to make it easier and safer to transport users.
Specific objective №2: Development of a joint traffic management system for "smart mobility" in the Giurgiu-Biala cross-border region.
Specific objective №3: Upgrading public experience and knowledge in the field of safe traffic measures in the Giurgiu-Byala cross-border area for better coordination of the transport system.
The challenges addressed by the Project are the underdeveloped road infrastructure with a high risk of accidents, leading to increased travel time, operating costs for vehicles, accidents and environmental damage.

Activity 4: Engineering - technical design and rehabilitation of streets in Byala Municipality
Activity 5: Carrying out construction and installation work in Giurgiu County

Activity 7: Explanation campaign for the traffic management system
Activity 8: Introduction of an integrated awareness system for road safety measures.
